UPDATE- Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties relating to the complexity of printing this work, we have had to temporarily shelve this project until we can find a printer who can print it to a high standard on our behalf using a flat-bed Proofing Press (Vandercook or similar).
We will update this page and the News page as soon as production has begun, and hope to have it available by the end of 2017.
The Night Litany, or 'Litany of the Night Watches' is printed at the Guild's workshop, The Press of St. Aethelwold, on our large Iron Hand-Press. It is produced following the style of William Morris, from whom the Guild takes much inspiration, and several of the decorations originally produced by Sir Edward Burne-Jones for the Kelmscott Chaucer are reproduced in this work.
The Litany was a work of Anglo-Catholic origin, the words of which are dear to the hearts of many members of the Guild, and we set this work in a manner we felt befit its venerable sentiments.
This work is currently in production. It will be under ten pages and hard bound, produced on heavy hand-made paper, and will measure approximately 12.5 x 9.5 inches.
The edition size is 125, and a lettered edition will be produced to order entirely on genuine Vellum.
We invite you to take the opportunity to have this beautifully produced piece of fine printing in your library or sacristy, the product of painstaking re-drawing of Morris's venerable designs, and the Guild's printing acumen.
