Presented herewith by the Guild is a very limited edition of 50 broadsides taken from a sermon of St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco, featuring part of the Exapostilarion from the Feast of the Universal Exaltation of the Holy Cross.
The Headpiece is taken from a 16th Century Apostol (Book of Epistles), and is then hand coloured. The Initial is also hand-colored, and the text is hand-set Jessen-schrift foundry type, the pinnacle of the 19th Century's search for an exemplary 'bibel-gottisch'.
The edition is printed on Mould made, hand finished Rives Heavyweight Cream Wove. Each broadside includes a deckled edge at the bottom, and a hand-coloured headpiece and initial. The initial can be gilded for a small additional charge, for which please select the option above.
Produced to fit well within an 8" X 10" frame.
